Changing my mind

After a little break, I've actually been missing this!  I've also been thinking about the fact that it's quite fun to go back and read my old posts, especially the ones from the old blog.  So, I am going to start up again but with the forewarning that it will be on an as-time-permits basis.  I know it's fun to read blogs where there is lots of posting, and at times it may be that way, but bear with me if not.
Here is a current family photo that was taken while visiting Tyler's family in NewYork, for those of you who could care less about the sewing part.  =)

By the way, I have decided that I am tired of looking and feeling the way I do, and it's time to do something about it.  I know as soon as I say something like that people get all fuzzy & nice and saying things about me being tall and not looking heavy, but I just plain feel yucky.  My midsection, primarily, has not been the same since stretching immensely 3 times to bear my children.  Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade them for the world; but it definately left me with some excess baggage, as some refer to it, "a spare tire".  Having to buy 2x clothing is also quite limiting when shopping.  And if you go to any height/weight charts, even at 6ft, 220 pounds is consered obese.  And not the low end of obese.
We had a fun night of playing basketball awhile back, and after one game of "bump" I seriously thought I was going to pass out or have a heart attack after all that running.  For those of you who've played "bump" with about 8 people, there's really not that much running!
Why I'm telling you this, is because I seriously need some motivation.  Walking daily is my goal, and I figure if I let you know then I'll be accountable to you.  Anyone want to join in?  I'm starting out right now since Tyler took the kids to the livestock auction to watch the fun.  Yipee.... walking where I want AND at the speed I want!  Excuse me if only young mothers with multiple children that are too big to ride in the stroller can relate to this happiness.  =)

As far as posting photos, I learned that you just have to load 5 photos and then go back and write between them for best results.  So maybe I'll be having some frequent "5 photo" posts.  =)

I would like to come and join you in walking. However I am sure me with my walker would slow you up too much. I am proud of you and wish you the best.

Welcome back! We missed you on here!

You really do look great, but I totally understand! I've started my program already, but count me in from a distance. If you aren't able to get outside or if it's easier to do it inside and you can play DVDs on your computer...check out Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds series. I have ABSOLUTELY no coordination, so I lot it. You want in place, do front kicks, back kicks, side steps and knee lifts. It required very little space and really works. Most of them have 3-4 miles on them from 15 minute miles to 10 minute miles (these include one or two 2-minute jogging boosts). Some of them use hand weights and some use a band for a great upper body workout. I used these when I lost my 60 lbs and lost 60 pounds in 18 weeks rather than the normal 36. I'm using them again alternating with the exercise bike until it's nice enough to walk outside. Anyway...just my two cents worth!

Great family photo, by the way!

Yes, the thought of walking without corralling kids IS exciting! We'll love seeing you post on here!

You have a darling family! I know how you feel about the weight thing...been up and down more times than I want to count! Just had a chat with a friend of mine and we are going to meet three mornings a week to start walking and eventually running. I need some serious motivation and accountability! I cut down on the number of classes I am teaching (aerobics) and my body has taken a hit! Look forward to hearing about your progress!

Sue, I would have been very happy with your company!
Shay, I'm not a walker either, but it's sure better than changine eating habbits. That will come later if it's not working.
Katie, I'm sure there'll be those inside only days, I'll have to check that out.
Clover, it's more the whining and "we've been walking FOREVER!" that I get sick of. But it was muddy and I was glad to not push the stroller.
Amy, we really should get together sometime; now that we at least live in the same state again!

Lisa, love your very UP FRONT postings. And welcome back--I've missed them and just stumbled on to your new ones this morning. New family picture was so good to have! Don't think you need my input on the weight thingy!!!! But will report that I'm still able to get out of bed and make it in to the couch for morning coffee--after my good husband wakes me up with the aroma from the kitchen!!
Keep up the good posts and yea I could give all kind of ideas for the quilt block--I can almost see it on my guest room beds already!! Maybe a softer pink with a bit of light yellow?
Love,
Billie Q.

Good for you for walking. I enjoy getting out when it is light enough after Danny gets home for some ME time. It is starting to get light enough...now it is too slick... sigh..can't wait for summer!

YAY! You didn't give it up! I don't "try" to post every day, just when I feel like it. So sometimes I go a long time and sometimes I post 6 time in a row!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! ;^o
