Roses for Sylvia

I spent most of today working on this quilt for a very sweet lady.  My SIL, Kylee, got the roses printed onto fabric, then asked if I'd mind making them into a quilt.  I had no idea where to go with it, nor did she; except she said Sylvia likes bright & also roses.  I tried to take photos, without much luck, but here is what I came up with.  I didn't get a full-shot of it that turned out good.
And the back.
I wasn't sure what I would use for binding, but this pinkish-orange has roses all over and was sitting on the sewing table.... worked great!
When you make a quilt for someone, it gives you lots of time to think about them.  Sylvia has been battling cancer for many years now, and has never once complained.  Mom called today and said from one post that I sounded like I wasn't happy here.  I thought a lot about that while I sewed, because it's not true- I was just complaining.  Thanks, Sylvia, for your sweet, & quiet example.

This is beautiful! I agree, making something for someone helps you think about them more. It's a wonderful outlet!

Lisa, I have always just been a "lurker" on your blog but this time I had to comment... This quilt is amazing and I know that it will be appreciated so much!
